Muslim Mee Tarik • 中国兰州拉面 is a Chinese Muslim-run eatery specialising in authentic Lanzhou-style noodles. They serve a wide range of hand-pulled mee tarik, dumplings, grilled skewers, and now mala tang as well. I first visited this place when they had just opened. At that time, most of the staff were foreign workers who did not speak local languages, so communication was quite difficult. The menu was also presented in a bulky booklet format, which make it like an high end restaurant. Coming back again this week, I noticed a clear improvement. They now offer mala tang at RM5 per 100g, and the menu is much more organised and easier to understand. Most importantly, the staff can now communicate in Malaysian languages, and one of the female staff members in particular was very friendly and attentive, which made the whole dining experience more pleasant. The food itself is genuinely good and tastes very close to what you would find in China. The noodles have a nice bite, and the flavours are bold and comforting. Since the main noodle dishes do not come with many vegetables, it is a good idea to add a separate plate of greens, or include vegetables in your mala tang, either dry or in soup. It complements the meal well. Overall, this is a solid choice if you are looking for authentic Lanzhou-style Chinese Muslim food in the area.

The ramen noodles are really delicious, the first time I've seen them, they're just close to the throat.

Have to order vegetables separately since the non-vegetarian dishes lack them.
