Attention Penang curry mee lovers, you should know that the Kuantan Road Penang curry mee in OUG is now available in PJ too.
The 3 weeks old stall at Mei Keng coffee shop is manned by the father while his sons continue to operate the original stall in OUG. He decided to branch out because he felt that his sons are old enough to take over the business themselves.
I am not sure if there had been an increase in price, but it costs RM6 for a regular bowl now compared to RM5.50 last year. Maybe it’s more expensive to rent a stall here?
Regardless, I don’t have a problem paying a bit extra because I care about the taste more. I would rather they increase the price to maintain the quality and provide the same amount of toppings than to cut corners.
For an additional RM1, you get two extra prawns and a bit more of everything else. I don’t know about you, but it’s really worth the price for me. Also, I am happy to report that the pork blood cubes here were softer than what we had at OUG, so that is definitely a welcomed improvement.
As of now, the stall is open daily and only closes when the coffee shop closes. They don’t have a fixed day for that, but from what I was told it’s usually at the end of the month.
