After our satisfying pork leg rice dinner at Sirichai, we told ourselves that we would be back to try Noi Seafood next door. Barely 2 months later, here we were again.
Noi Seafood was buzzing with mix of tourists and locals alike. Looking for a table that fits your party perfectly is a challenge here, but turnover is fast. The well-staffed kitchen was fast on sending out the dishes too.
Ordering is a breeze even if you don’t speak Thai, as they have a menu in the form of a photo album. Just point at any dish you fancy.
Grilled pork neck – unexpectedly delicious considering we were at a seafood restaurant. The pork neck was incredibly tender with a sweet caramelized skin, it tasted a bit like char siew. A must try here.
For some reason they ran out of squid that night, so we opted for the steamed freshwater prawns in egg. Despite being pricier than what were ready to pay for, we did not regret ordering it even a bit. The prawns were super fresh, large and meaty as you can see. Absolutely scrumptious.
We never fail to order lala at any seafood restaurant in Thailand because they always turn out great no matter the cooking style. This was not an exception either.
As for soup, we decided to have something different other than the usual tomyam. But that could have been a mistake, as the lemongrass seafood soup did not hit out spot. It was alright, just not as nice as the rest.
Lastly, a stir-fried morning glory just to balance out the meal. A tasty one too!
If you happen to visit Huai Khwang and looking for a reasonably clean, good and affordable place to eat. Noi Seafood should be on your list of consideration.
To reach here, come out of the Huai Khwang MRT via exit 3 of MRT and keep walking left towards the night market. The restaurant will be on your left after you cross the first bridge over a drain.
