I have always been a huge fan of modern Thai cuisine, hence my repeated visits to Iced Lemongrass (Rm7). Mango Smoothie.I would highly recommend the Play Thiam Platter (Rm38) for sharing – Crispy fried garlic lemongrass chicken, Sesame prawn toasts, Grilled chicken skewers, Grilled beef balls, Thai fish cakes, Rice crackers with Nam prik ong and Caramelised noodles. Everything on the platter was fantastic! The lemongrass chicken was crispy and flavorsome; the grilled chicken skewers were tender and flavorful; the rice cracker added a nice constrasting texture to the dish.I particularly enjoyed the crispy lemongrass chicken – toothsome textures with an addictive layer of skin. What a beauty! The Homok Seafood (Rm26) was probably the prettiest Thai-styled otak-otak I’ve had! Steamed fishcake topped with prawns, squid, mussels, scallops in a spicy mousse. Must order! And no – I didn’t share. I was greedy enough to have it both, all on my own.The Thai Green Curry with Beef Fillet (Rm28) on the other hand came a tad too fiery for my liking. Don’t get me wrong – though it’d burned, the broth had a nice sweetness to it and the beef fillets, a great chew. Be prepared with napkins! The Wagyu Radna Beef Noodles (Rm56) was the most expensive dish we ordered that afternoon, The grilled wagyu ribeye slices were marvelously done, but the kuey tiao noodles felt rather ordinary to me. Remember to pour in all the beef broth you can get at the side!
Overall Rating: 8/10. I had fun that afternoon – all of the dishes we ordered were marvelous, though the Wagyu Radna Beef Noodles is passable in my humble opinion. By the time we were done with all of that, desserts were impossible. Notwithstanding, there is another outlet situated in Publika.
