After months of drooling over their photographs posted online, I had leisure lunch at
I sampled Brasaria’s Half Chicken Platter, Pesto Pasta, Chicken Pie and a couple of their best-selling sides.
For drinks, there’s the Agua Fresca (RM4.00), made fresh daily with real fruit. Mine had a refreshing blend of watermelon concoctions. Not bad for the scorching weather!
I had the Half Chicken Platter (RM27.60). For the smaller-eaters, pick the Quarter Chicken Platter (RM17.90) and for sharing, the Whole Chicken Platter (RM60.90). A la carte options are also available in the menu.
The charcoaled slow-roasted chicken meat was satisfyingly juicy, nicely marinated, and flavorsome on every mouthful. I can easily finish the entire platter-full on my own!
Opt to have the chicken slathered in Aji Sauce (in mild or hot) or BBQ Peruano sauce (which to be honest – tasted a little strange for me). The hot Aji sauce had a pleasant zing and slow afterburn – I’d highly recommended.
The platter also included 2 side dishes (+RM3 for swapping the green salad with a side). I really liked the Brasaria Rice – Peruvian yellow rice with raisins, and Salchipapas – fries and frankfurters. These were my favorite sides of the meal.
On the rest of the sides I had (a la carte for RM5) – Latin Trio (grilled sweet potato, pineapple and plantain), Elote (grilled corn with aji mild sauce, sprinkled with a hint of chili powder and cheese) and Peas Saltado (combination of stir fried snow peas and black eyed peas).
I also had a serving of The Chicken Pie (RM13.90), and it tasted moreish. Tucked with a decent amount of roasted chicken fillings, wrapped in crisp puff pastry, and drizzled with Aji mild.
The Pesto Pasta is not in their current menu (just yet!) but essentially a really simple dish. Like the name suggests, it’s spaghetti (done al dente) tossed in pesto sauce, and topped with slices of roast chicken.
I have to admit though – that I’m exceedingly biased towards anything and everything chicken. My meal was delicious and I would, without a doubt, return for another dose of Pollo A La Brasa.
Thank you for having me.
